FYI, MXF is not a codec. MXF is just a file container with semi-standardized metadata.
A MXF wrapper can contain a multitude of file formats within.
We use DNX36 or ProRes LT for most offline exports. And ProRes HQ for mixing.
H264 works good in Nuendo as long as it's all key frames, but that really doesn't make sense space wise so we prefer to go with a "proper" codec. But in PT h264 has never been very good IMHO. But we are still at PT10 though.
