share hardware between computers/users?
Hi All.
I'm looking to get into ProTools and am in the lucky position of having a long-term-loan of an M-Box2 while a friend is away. I'm wondering if I can just buy the software and use this borrowed M-Box2. Would that pose any licensing issues? Do I have to register/authorise the Box with my computer? How do I know which version of PT to use with this box? Thanks all. B :) |

Re: share hardware between computers/users?
You could buy a version of PT online at DIGI and there shouldn't be an issue of using your friends mbox2 for the time being however you could probably use his version of PT also for a period of time so you wouldn't have to spend your $. I not trying to short $ digi but if your friend is away an unavailable to us Pro Tools, I don't see any harm for you to use his complete system including software for a period of time. You will have to validate the install but it's not a big deal.
