Default PTMP - S/Mux - Lightbridge

Hi All

I have been over all the posts and there seem to be success stories
with the Lightbridge and 32 adat inputs. Can anyone comment on this
same setup, but being able to track 16 adat inputs at 96 via s/mux?

thanks!

Hi Dylex,

ProTools does not support S/Mux format over fibre unfortunately. Which is a real shame as I've got a Pre which does S/Mux! Dang - stuck at 48k.
However, I would rather stand corrected on the matter...and have the possibility of 96k...

Mike

Huh???

I have a Profire and a Focusrite 26/26 that I connect via fibre and work all the time at higher sample rates. In fact I do all my tracking at 88.2k, but I have recorded at all the way up to 192K with the second interface...Now granted I was all the way down to 2 channels, but it worked none the less...

If you cant go higher than 48K, it sounds like a limitation of your interface...not of Protools.

I confirm that I use ProFire Lightbridge in Smux at 96 KHz with my SSL ADDA converter, cant use word clock (when SSL is the master clock) though, but I sync with ADAT.

I use mostly PTMP 7.3.1cs2 but I think having 16 in outs at 96 KHz is ok with every version of PT as it stayes in nominal 18 in/out limit.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I'm gonna grab this Lightbridge unit and test the waters for myself.
I will post my results...
