A more complete answer is -
No, ProTools only works with a Digidesign audio interface.
So, if you want something similar to the 828MkII, you'd get the 002 Rack.

tele,

You know what I meant

BTW, any answer about my halogen question? You had mentioned in the cheap vocal booth thread not to use halogen lights in a v/o booth and I was wondering why not. Flourescents I understand, but what's wrong with halogens?

Thanks,

Halogen light - years ago, I worked with a gal who always got noise when she used her halogen torchiere lamp while recording on her Tascam 488. Maybe it was just her. Can't hurt to try.

Thanks,

Switched lamps - with much cursing (not you) because of my very small booth. Don't notice a noise difference, but it's a bit brighter in the booth.

Cheers,

I know the lamps you are talking about Had the same problem- screws up guitar rigs too, especialy if you use the dimmer function on the lamp- kinda like a very annoying Theremin- hehehehe!!!

Regarding Halogen lamps, I have some in my studio and they are ok.

I don't know about you guys in the states but over here there are two different types, we have Halogen lamps which can run off the mains current and others that have built in transformers.

In my studio I have the mains ones which work fine. it would probally explain the noise from the girl using the lamp. I did have a small desk lamp with a halogen bulb when I was a student and that used to generate noise, it also melted so it probally wasn't the best lamp in the world.
