Default PC-Formatted Firewire Drive on a Mac?

Hey -

Will a PC-Formatted External Firewire drive mount when plugged into a Mac G4's firewire ports, or will it try to reformat?

Thanks!

The PC drive will mount just fine. I do this all the time. Your sessions will not play from this drive. They will need to be copied over to the audio drive on your Mac. Then when you've edited, and so forth, just drag the folder back to PC/Fw drive and use on your PC. Works great!

The Mac can read FAT32 formatted drives.. not NTFS formatted drives. I believe Panther may have the ability to read NTFS formatted drives.. but that's the exception.

What Rail said.

FWIW, we read/write onto PT sessions from a FAT32 formatted drive all the time with no problems on our G-4. We're currently working with a client who runs Protools on a windows maxchine. He's got the same fw drive (a Firedock) as we have, and we have no problems between the two platforms.
