Default Controlling a beta 1800 sp from protools

Hi guys, I need to know if there is a way to run a beta deck as a slave from my PT LE 7.1 so I can insert audio to tape. This particular deck does not have insert buttons, so it has to be done via remote.
Would machine control do the job
Thanks for any input on this issue!

Machine control does not work in LE.

Even if you use an MTC/Time Code box, there is no way to insert.
