Default PT HD 9.0.5 Assertion error- NEW not in Answerbase

Hi DUC,

I have been running my ProTools pretty well, with only a couple of hangs.
This one occured just onw, when I was removing Insert Sends from multipletracks, by using "Option+Shift+LeftMouseClick" to remove only the sends from the highlighted (selected) tracks.

The assertion message makes ProTools hang, and then whenyou force quit Pro tools and restart, you get a Gray screen of Death.

Below id the Assertion message, and below that the error report that came up immediately after re-booting the computer and hardware.

Any ideas?

Running :
Pro Tools HD 9.0.5
2x 2.8 GHZ Mac Quad Core Xeon, 6GB RAM
Mac OS 10.6.8
Waves Mercury V 8.0.2
All other plug ins are up to date as of Oct 1st 2011.

Cheers

Is this occurring in only one session? Is there a specific track that causes the assertion?

It sounds to me, based on the minimal info provided, that this may be a corrupt session. However, I would suggest you try trashing preferences and databases first and see if that helps. If it doesn't, do you have an earlier version of the session to revert to?

Another possible workaround would be to create a new session at the same bit depth and sample rate as the problem session and use Import Session Data to import everything from the problem session, then test to see if the problem still occurs.

You should also send me your AvidLogFiles folder - zip it up and email it to me at: vi [at] digidesign [dot] com. Please indicate the log that the assertion occurred in (a new one is created each time you launch Pro Tools). Also put a link to this thread in the subject or body of the message.

Hi,

I assumed it might be a corrupt session, as it only happened on that one session. It was on a Buss send removal process, I will send youthe AvidLogFiles later tonight... I've been very busy (4 albums to mix)

Cheers
