Weird Sound with 002 Console
Hey folks,
I am having a really strange problem with my Digi002 unit (running Pro Tools 8). There is a weird electrical sound coming out of the speakers. I have tested the speakers separately, no problem. I have used the cables on other devices, so it's not that. It appears to be the 002 unit. The sound is present in every single output on both speakers. It is NOT present in the headphones, so it's not affecting my actual mix. But the noise is just really annoying, and who wants to mix a whole film on headphones? Anybody had this problem? Recommended solutions? Thanks!

Its a stretch, but I would try re-seating all the power harness connections. The harness is a trouble spot for most every 002 ever made and maybe its causing a loss of current going to one of the circuit boards(as opposed to the usual total failure).

Are you using balanced cables?
I have used unbalanced cables with with my 002R and i used to get loads of noise. With balanced i get nothing.
