Problem while installing Pro Tools 6.4 on my Laptop...HELP!!

Before I start, I'll let yall know that I use Windows XP.

Ok. So heres the story.

I was installing it last week and I came to the part where I had to update the firmware or whatever. The lights (all of them) on the Mbox light up and stay lit. Instructions told me to go look for help within Tech Support and all I got was a recording. When I finally got a hold of a representative, I was on hold for an hour!

If anyone knows what to do here...PLESE help me out. I've wanted Pro Tools for a long time. I use it at school now and I bought it for that reason and so I can start recording again.


So please help me out if you know what the problem is that Im talking about and how to fix it.

first - Use the JUMP button below, and post your question (and try a search) on the correct LE forum - this TDM forum is for different hardware, so we're not familiar with issues like yours.

Generally, you don't upgrade firmware, but there is a VERY specific routine for installing that involves a proper order for loading software, attaching hardware, ignoring a certain Windows question about 'Would you like to install the new hardware..", etc. Double check the 'Getting Started" manual and read through the whole process before trying it again. If that doesn't work, post on the other forum as mentioned above.
