Multiple MIDI Tracks Volume Issues in Xpand
Never had this issue before but something funky is going on this seesion and cannot figure it out.
I have created an instrument track and inserted Xpand2 and created 4 midi channels. Selected four different instruments in Xpand on the instrument track and selected channels 1 through 4 for each of the instruments. For each of the four midi tracks I selected the outs to channels 1 through 4 respectively. Recorded midi data in each of the tracks. No problem. But when I play back and adjust the levels of the midi tracks to mix, they all effect each other. For example midi channel 1 is a Piano and midi channel 2 is an organ. During playback, when I move the fader for the piano, the organ level changes and vice versa for all 40 midi tracks. Cannot figure this one.

Re: Multiple Midi Tracks Volume Issues
The way you described it, each midi track fader that's routed to the same xpand2 will turn down xpand2 as a whole. You need to adjust the actual volume knobs in xpand2 as far as I know. You can automate these levels too.

Re: Multiple Midi Tracks Volume Issues
Thanks GJB, I know age is creeping in but I could have sworn that was never an issue before. I would setup 4 separate midi tracks pointing to a stereo instrument track with Xpand as the insert plugin and be able to control volume from the mix window. I d not realize I could automate the Xpand plugin volumes in that window.
Everyone else have to do it this way? Thanks.

Check it out, figured a better way. Right click on the level fader in xpand 2, choose "learn midi cc" and move the correct midi track fader. done I also tried in structure free and it works correctly without having to do this... must be something with how xpand2 is set up and I'm not going to read the manual :) |
