Pro Tools window won't expand

Strange (probably windows noob) issue. I can't get the Pro Tools window to expand once I've collapsed it to the task bar. Neither clicking on it nor alt tabbing to and from Pro Tools will expand the window.

Tried deleting prefs and databases to no avail.

PT HD Native 11.3.1
Windows 7 sp1, Intel i7-4770 @3.4 gh

Hover your mouse cursor over it on the task bar until it shows a pop up window then right click on it and select restore. It's bollox I know

Try Shift+Right Click on the PT icon in the taskbar, then Restore. If PT is off screen, you might have Move, Minimize, or Maximize available to work with:

Like Shan said, my guess is that PT is off screen. You can confirm this by opening up task manager to see if Windows shows PT is running. Once you get it back on screen, and all of your screen(s) are set up like you like them, exit PT by hitting Alt and F4. That way every time you open up PT, the screens will be exactly like you had them before.

Are you using the minimize button?





As mentioned by mjslakeridge above, do you see PT running in Windows Task Manager(Ctrl+Shift+Esc) after you minimize it?





Post us a screen shot of PT in your task bar with your mouse over top of it's icon so we can have a better look:

Pro Tools not Maximizing once Minimized is a known issue, I've had it happen repeatedly. Hover the cursor over the PT Icon, wait for the Peek, right click on the Peek and choose either Restore or Maximize. Happened once in PT 11, didn't at first with PT 12, then did and now doesn't again. Not a deal breaker.

PT is still running. Neither Restore, Maximize nor Close Window work from the task bar.

I can sometimes get it to randomly pop back by Alt Tabbing, otherwise I have to end the program in the task manager
