I installed w7 first but it didn't work so I removed and went eith XP instead. I have a constant low noise on my speakers. Sounds like a mix between white noise and a modem. It sounds like that even before I launch PT 8 if the fire-wire cable is connected to my digi 002. There's no noise in the headphones. This is taking so much time and work.. Any idea? |

Re: low static noise in PT 8
I would first update to 8.0.1cs1 - this is the best version of PT to use with XP SP3.

Re: low static noise in PT 8
Make sure you're running TRS (tip ring sleeve......) cables to your monitors. This will kill all the noise for most people.

Re: low static noise in PT 8
The TRS cables fixed it! Thanks a lot!
So I think I'll upgrade to 8.0.1 cs1 How can I make a back up of my system, to revert to if the upgrade doesn't work? (I'm a noob) |

Re: low static noise in PT 8
Afetr using both Ghost and True Image I feel The later is best suied for cloning a system drive with Pro Tools and 3rd party plug-ins involved. Authorizations are an issue with Ghost. Always keep a clone drive handy so you can be up and running in seconds if there is an issue,
