How do you listen to files in CD Architect? Through your Digidesign hardware?

Thanks,

Yeah....it doesn't run through the digi drivers and protools....but critical listening/tweaking should be complete by the time you're burning to CD.

I know Pro Tools has to be closed, it's only single client.

I noticed that CD Architect allows trimming and cross fading. I was only going to use it to make some playlist CD's for the car. I just wondered if it played through the WaveDriver or ASIO driver so I could hear the playout on my nearfields. Guess not.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I just run the computer 'audio out' into the 'Aux In' on the 003 and listen through my main nearfields or cheaper computer spkrs using the 'Aux In' and 'Alt CR' buttons. ( trick I picked up from albee)

CD Architect will play back through the wave driver, but not ASIO. CD Architect is quite a bit more than just a burning program. It really impinges on being a mastering application. At this point it will only use DirectX plug-ins but Sony gives you quite a few with CDA. You line your tracks up on a timeline in whatever order you want, adjust the lengths, add fades, adjust volumes of each track via envelopes (very similar to PT edit window automation). You can add any DX plug-in to any individual track to adjust EQ, or just about anything you want. These tracks also go to a master bus where you can add more Plug-ins, dither, etc. You can do hidden tracks, get around redbook specs if you want, eliminate time between tracks, etc. I think you might get CDA free if you buy Soundforge 9 which also comes with additional DX editing/mastering plug-ins.

Hope this helps,
Greg
