pro tools storage and backup
Which is the best solution for storage and backup for a pro tools system that needs about 100Gb of storage capacity. Is this capacity sufficient for a studio that works with four projects at the same time(50 minutes each/40 tracks aprox.) Kostas Kalimeris Producer/Sound engineer |

Re: pro tools storage and backup
We use the "Lacie AIT 1" tape drive seen at: www.lacie.com along with the Retrospect software (MAC)
We work with many clients around the clock (24 bit), and we have only about 70 Gb of hard drive space. (Average session is about 1 Gb, so we should have more, but when we keep our backups and sessions well organised, its no problem)... We use the hardware compression on the tape drive, and have stored and restored about 6Tb of data... NO error so far!!! [This message has been edited by Lydriket as (edited July 02, 2000).] |
