Playback of selection not working correctly

I am using PT 5.1, and have been using ProTools for five years now. I've never had this problem occur, and have not changed any of my software recently...I think I must have bumped a key and changed some mode, but I can't figure out how to change it back (I checked the manual and the Keyboard Shortcuts Card):

How it used to work:
- I would select a region of audio in the Edit Window and hit play.
- PT would play the selection (when I hit spacebar).
- If I stopped the audio in the middle, the cursor location would return to the beginning of the selection
- When audio was stopped, the selected region would still be selected

How it works now:
- I select a region of audio
- PT plays selection when I hit spacebar
- When I stop audio, cursor location is now set to the place where audio was when I stopped playback
- When I stop audio, previously selected region is no longer selected.

It's driving me crazy. Can't figure out how to fix this. I tried things like "Link Edit Selection to Timeline Selection" but that didn't do it...

Make sure command focus is on and press the "N" key. You've unlinked edit and playback selection.

Also located in Preferences, under Edit I think "Edit insertion follows playback"
