Default PT|MIX Core not recognized in my SBS chassis

Anybody have any ideas?

I just added an SBS 7-slot chassis (2102-00-2) to my PT-MIX system. I have three additional "vintage" DSP Farm cards as well. DigiTest recognizes my farm cards in the chassis, but not the MIX-Core card. BTW, until I added the chassis, everything was working fine with my Core card and one "vintage" DSP Farm.

When I put the Core card back into the G4, it shows up fine (ie. the card is not bad). I updated to the latest DigiTest and latest DigiSystemINIT extension (as found on Digi site) but it's still not showing up in either DigiTest or PT.

Do you think my Core card is not compatible with the chassis? What can I do about that?

Thanks!

Did you check the recommended slot order for both the computer and the SBS? Things have to be installed in a specific order on both sides to get it to work.

Check the appendix to your manual (or probably a PDF on the Digi site) for Installation of an Expanded ProTools system.

Yeah, I checked to make sure the Core card is in the lowest slot like the manual said. I even tried it in another slot in the chassis to see if Slot 1 was bad...no go...

Hello,

It sounds like the chassis may not be PCI 2.1 compatible.

You will want to confirm that the chassis and its controller cards have IBM PCI 2.1 compliant Bridge chips. The host card number should start with 20-101. If you are unsure contact SBS to verify you have a 2.1 compliant chassis.
