Default MIDI won't playback properly

Hello all,

When I record midi sometimes it will play back sometimes it won't. And sometimes it plays back the midi data from the wrong position on the timeline. I don't know what to do and its very frustrating. It works perfectly fine when using my midi controller keyboard and sometimes it plays back the midi properly but otther times it just cuts out or plays them in the wrong positions.

I'm running PT LE on a windows 7 system.

Thank you so much for your help!

I am having the same issue, I cannot tell if it is just the particular plugin I am using (Xpand 1 not 2) or if its a setting I cannot find. Most users on here will tell you how to fix the problem but they don't give you the directions on finding what they are referring to. Whatever is going on though it has ruined me creatively, it makes me not even want to work on music due to extreme frustration.

It will be hard for anyone to give you any meaningful advice without more information about which version of LE you are using, and a Sandra report.

However, maybe a point in the right direction to check your buffer settings. Your MIDI might be "overflowing" because your system cannot handle processing both the midi, playing back the sample, and reading the info from PT. Usually a result of setting your buffer low enough to avoid latency in recording. If you haven't already, set your buffer to 1024 or higher, and click Ignore Errors During Playback/Record. If you still have the problem, you should obviously provide the forum with more info about your particular setup.
