coreaudio %CPU relatively high w Pro Tools
Hello friends, I'm looking for information regarding coreaudiod %CPU usage w Pro Tools. There is a large discrepancy between the %CPU usage rate of the CoreAudio daemon on my computer when using Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Live 10 Lite and Kontakt 6.
The behaviour is as such: - from clean boot coreaudiod %CPU approx. 0 - after launching Live 10 Lite coreaudiod %CPU approx. 2 - after launching Kontakt 6.2.2 coreaudiod %CPU approx. 2 - after launching Logic Pro X 10.4.6 coreaudiod %CPU approx. 5 - after launching Pro Tools Ultimate 2020.3.0 coreaudiod %CPU approx. 17 Computer is: Model Name: Mac mini Model Identifier: Macmini6,2 Processor Name: Intel Core i7 Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 6 MB Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled Memory: 16 GB OS is: Mojave 10.14.6 Is it to be expected that Pro Tools will use much more CPU time that these other apps, or are there settings adjustments I could make to reduce Pro Tools use of coreaudiod? Thank you kindly for any help given. |
