I have a Yamaha PM5000 and am trying to use it as a control surface for Pro Tools. Has anyone ever had any success with this?
I know if it is possible it would only control faders. |

I was under the impression that midi on the 5000 was only for mute scenes. If that's true, then the faders won't do anything. Even if not, that's a HUGE control surface with very little in the way of real control. Is this for studio or live use?

It is in a studio.
I use the PM5000 for routing of signal, but since I found that it is midi capable I would like to use it for automation. With the limit of midi channels you can only use 30 faders at a time. |

Well, a C24 would make a much better controller, take less than half the space, and cost a lot less
