Default FWIW 10.1.2 really trashed my system :(

FWIW 10.1.2 really trashed my system

All was well at 10.0.1, but when I installed 10.1.2 things went downhill fast. Among others, simply launching PT and then attempting to exit the program (before loading a session!) would hang PT every time.

When you did open a session file, you couldn't "Save As" - an error would come up stating "Could not save 'filename' because while translating Tracks".

Quite informative. And no, that's not a typo.

So then you click OK and get "Could not complete the Exit command because Access violation occurred, unable to read loction: 0x0000DE7A." So you click OK Again and then get "Could not complete the Exit command because Access violation occurred, unable to read loction: 0x00000000." And a fourth and final OK click yields "Could not complete the Exit command because Privileged instruction executed in user mode."

Any takers? I went back to 10.0.1 and life is A-OK! I'm thinking maybe the UAD-2 Quads might be a sticking point...... but that's just a blind guess.

Running 2 PC's here. Went straight to 10.1.2 on the first machine. Initial problems went away after the first reboot and its been fine, except for some functions take several seconds to complete(like loading some plugins). If I am patient and let a function complete, I have no problems. If I try to click on a new function while waiting, I will often get a grey screen and PT is frozen. Tried 10.0.1 on the second system and haven't seen any change for better or worse. In both cases, I am able to work without issue if I don't rush

I also noticed the increased "sluggishness" in 10.1.2 - my control surface started acting as it had back in v8 with constant cycling, rendering it inoperative. I also made sure that Disk Cache had completed loading the sessions before asking PT to perform functions.

This strange issue with extended timing and forced waiting is also magnified when UAD2 plugs were initiated.

I wonder how MIDI tracks would handle this strange behavior?

PT HD Native 10.1.2/Win7 SP1 is quite broken, to me.

Well..... 10.0.1 was the only prior "fix" - however, 10.2 is working A-OK! Thanks!!
