All else seems fine. This only showed up after I re-installed Waves 8

Without it, its really tough to offer any advice. The check this page: http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...n&DocType=1078 and make sure you have done all the system tweaks.

Since this popped up after a re-install, what happens if you remove the Wave Shell from the plugins folder? If that makes the problem go away, then maybe that install went bad, or maybe you should check with Waves to see if they have any small updates that may address the issue. I am running a slightly older version here(7 something) and it does not have this problem(just some minor graphics issues that go away as soon as I close the plugin window).

Thanks for the response. Extremely stable and properly tweaked Pro W764 install here. Runs Sonar, Samplitude, Premiere, Vegas Pro, Sound Forge, amongst other products. The Waves plugs are fine in all other installs. Since the issue is apparently limited to an exit dialog box I am not overly concerned. As I recall 9.0.6 may also be a factor here since I typically run PT9 on my Macs in the studio, this client project needs some treatments that only live on the Win box in the studio. I could have done full post on the OSX systems then ported but thought finish the project on Win7.

I don't believe fwfmdio.dll is part of win7, so do a search and see if you can determine which installed app it belongs to.

If you can't figure out where it came from try removing it temporarily, reboot your computer, and see if that prevents the crash.
