Default Pro Tools LE 8.0.5 Windows 7 Install Issue for SC48

I looked around the forum and cant find a similar issue. I am starting from scratch trying to get this to work. This is as far as I have gotten.

Fresh install windows 7 pro 64 bit.
Install pro tools le 8.0.3 full install without sc48 connected.
Install pro tools le 8.0.5 update without sc48 connected.

Even without the sc48 connected the driver is still installed and it is the only way I can get through the installs without errors. Once I do this I get a copy of 8.0.5 that throws up dae -1115 at start up. I tried 2 other firewire cards but they bluescreen the computer. One thing I noticed is that the Digidesign FireHose driver remains at version 8.0.3 even after the 8.0.5 update. I have tried 10 installs various ways and the first full install version is what the driver remains at no matter what. Is that driver suppose to be 8.0.5? The console is at version 2.8.5. Does that need to be updated to work?

To be clear I tried the install every which way connecting and disconnecting the sc48 when the software asked. Waste of time.

Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks, Aaron

haha, I get to this site trying to solve the problem after that! anyways, mine was giving me that DAE error-1115, so after hours of searching, (this sounds ridiculous) all I had to do was unplug all my other usb devices. It was taking up too much power during install. Give that a shot, hope it works for you.

That's weird about the usb. After I posted I found the windows 7 optimizations and troubleshooting guide...

http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=349411

I do see that about usb but cant imagine it make any difference on a firewire connected avid device.

I finally got Pro Tools LE 8.0.5 installed and running.

I reinstalled windows 7 pro 64 bit from scratch.
Changed firewire driver to legacy.
Installed 8.0.3 full, connecting device as it specified.
Installed update to 8.0.5, disconnecting and connecting as specified.

All worked fine after changing to legacy firewire. Can anyone confirm that the latest Digidesign FireHose driver is 8.0.3 even after installing 8.0.5?
