Slow MTC Locking

Hoping someone can give me some advice here. I'm an HD12.8 user on non-HDX systems (I use a first-gen Orion32). When syncing two machines (master is Mac and the slave; Windows), the Windows system can sometimes take several seconds to lock video and start playing back. I've tried slaving other DAWs and all show some intermittent issue, but with Pro Tools still being the worst.

All my video is DNxHD and both systems are running MIDI over the network and my MIDI monitor shows the MTC signal isn't getting lost. It's not consistent, but once it starts, it just gets worse. Sometimes closing/reopening Pro Tools helps, although it's temporary. For what it's worth, MMC is rock solid.

I tested using a Mac as the slave running a video slave 3 demo and it works perfectly. Now I'm left wondering if it's a Windows issue or if Pro Tools is responsible. Or if it's a combination of the two.

Has anyone else seen this? I know HDX and a satellite configuration would likely solve this or even another Mac with video slave, but if it's just some dumb setting or tweak I'm missing, I'd hate to invest in a solution before exploring it first. Any advice?

Well, turns out I was using an old rev of rtpMIDI. 1.01 vs 1.1. Problem solved. Thanks to everyone who read my post, scratched their head and thought, "what is this dumb ass talking about?" Yeah, I fully own that. :)
