Default Software and interfaces

Hi,

How I know which version / edition of Pro Tools is right for me?

Is there a list of compatible audio interfaces for the different versions and editions of Pro Tools for Windows?

Thanks

Your questions are a bit vague. Maybe if you told us what you want/need to do. Your experience and expectations.

Hi,

I'm moving from Sonar (Home Studio). I want to be able to record. The songs will be multi-track but only one track will typically be recorded at a time (occasional exception might be 1 vox + 1 guitar). I'll also want to lay down and edit MIDI, so I'll expect to be using VST instruments/plug-ins. There could be a few tracks done via MIDI.

I'm on a budget - I'd like to something like a Focusrite 214, but don't know if this is compatible?

If there's any specific questions I can answer that would help, please let me know.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

The 214 is a well liked interface that a lot of people seem to be using.
You are aware that Pro Tools doesn't directly support VST plug-ins (and never will), you will need something to host VSTs VEP is popular.
