Default Audiomedia III latency

Hello there,
I´m would like to know information about
the latency using Audiomedia III.
Since i never used this card, and im thinking about get one, does this card can have
zero latency, or very small, so you can record
and ear the playback tracks without getting
everything delayed?
I´ve used many cards in my life and even a
few "mseconds" make a difference...
Thanks

It actually depends on the software, the card itself doesn't have any real latency (other than a few samples of converter delay when doing analog I/O).

If the software's engine runs on the computer's host (instead of the card) then that's where you will experience some latency.

What app were you going to use?

The Pro Toole LE engine runs on the computer's host. I believe it's the same with Cubase VST, but you should check with Steinberg on that.

As far as the MIDI card, http://www.digidesign.com/compato has all of our compatibility info.

Ok,
But that means im going to have some latency
if i use Cubase or Protools LE?
And how much latency?
Does it go to affect the monitoring of the
recording tracks?
I got the information that the latency using
Audiomedia III it´s about 2.3 ms ....

Thanks again

My Audiomedia III gets 512Samples latency (Not SMALL) when using ASIO but I hope digi will fix that.

At Pro Tools you can easily get 128Samples (about 4ms+/- and it's pretty low).
