So this morning at NAB the very first booth I stopped at was Blackmagic and they were doing a Fairlight demo and the guy running it couldn't get Audio out of it into the speakers for the audience to hear. I shook my head and walked away.
Not a great start from Blacklight to show off their new hardware.

I suspect their targets are Adobe and Apple as opposed to Avid. Vegas has had this capability for years.

What's the point of rolling out new products, while leaving the existing ones unfinished? They're turning into an equivalent of Behringer for video post.

NO. But A very good example of what could work really well IF MC had the PT audio interface as an option. Better still ALSO offer Pro Tools with a "Lite" MC video only playback option that runs standalone in the background with a modern "satellite" connection. (i.e Take the AVE out of the Pro Tools program).
Then look at the collaberation function offered at the end of the clip and imagine what it could do as modern replacement for troublesome area of changelists.

I do not look at the NAB demo hickups as a failure but rather admire the forward creative thinking behind it and balls to demo a Beta program at that venue. Then I am further inspired by what a willing team can achieved with its audio integration from virtually nothing in 12 months.

I am not a post guy but I do some music videos for fun. I downloaded the free V14 Beta and it works great in my system. No issues. I am exploring using multicam editing to comp out any bad errors in a performance (2 or three takes). Video FX and audio editing are far beyond anything I have had till now... Seems too good to be true for literally zero dollars! Already like WAY better than Final Cut Pro

No Altiverb compat as yet. Only six plugins per channel. If you don't buy the DSP interface you are stuck at a low track count. Hmmm. It has a clip editor though

I use Resolve weekly. It makes way more sense to me than Final Cut Pro.
