Well, muzikgirl92 you might be on to something. Avid were able to test a USB hub and also got it working on an older mac that was having this problem.

This might be a reasonable workaround for others with this problem.

Hello all,
I really hope there is an answer/solution to my problem(s) here. I've been reading people's problems, and i haven't found a solution yet that fits my studio's specs.

Here are my spec:

I have an iMac 21.5 inch, late 2009 model
3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Deuo
4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB
OSZ 10.9.4 (13E28)

I have an MBOX2
and use Protools LE 8
and Reason/Record 7.
NI Maschine

My problems:

My computer was running on Snow Leopard, and everything was running smoothly (didn't have reason 7 downloaded because snow leopard didn't support it)

Once I updated my operating system (like an idiot) to Mavericks
my external speakers wouldn't play any audio.
The ONLY way to get audio to play is to increase the buffer size in Reason, but then when i try to record music, it's delayed and vocals aren't able to be recorded because there's a click.
Audio not playing through external speakers/mbox for protools, reason, record, maschine, itunes, NOTHING!!!!!!!!

When i go to system preferences-audio- it recognizes the mbox, but the input/output says something like " no input/output recognized for this device" or something.

The only solution I'm thinking of right now is this:
downgrading my operating system to mountain lion and upgrade my protools since I'm pretty sure my version of protools isn't compatible with mountain lion.

Is there any alternative. I'd rather NOT have to downgrade my operating system.

I just want my audio to work again at a normal buffer size so i can make music again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, i JUST purchased a new 15 inch retina display macbook pro.. and it comes with mavericks.. i wish i would have known about this before i made the purchase!

IF ANYONE has any piece of advice for me, i'd really appreciate it!!!

Thank you !

Just upgraded to PT 11. I have an 18 station lab, 16 with MBox 2's and 2 stations with DIGI 002's.
I am having an issue where PT will not recognize my Roland Fantom XR sound module patches "MIDI server patch file not available...." error. Roland does not have a new driver for Mavericks BUT everything is fine on my 002 system. What would prohibit the .midnam file on the MBox system and not the 002 system?

If you have mavericks you need to download latest 10.3.3 driver from Avid and it will identify. But it will still not work completely: When unplugging FW400 connection and plugging it again, Mbox is not recognized OR when putting in sleep mode and waking up, whole system crashes and reboots...

Comments from someone??

Here's one : NEVER use Sleep Mode Ever with Pro Tools and Avid hardware or any other DAW programs as you will keep having issues for ever.

If you search the DUC you would see that Avid says to not use any sleepmode or power saving stuff at all when using Pro Tools.

So there is no "fix" for crashes due to powersaving issues.

Best Regards
Christopher

WARNING: Don't hotplug 6pin firewire 400 connections!
