Macbook Pro & PT10 Fan noise solution found!
Hi,
Having had the same problem that others are describing regarding the fans kicking in as soon as you launch a PT session. Be it PT LE8.0.5 or PT10. I decided to monitor the system by installing and using iStat Nano and gfxCardStatus I found out that when you load a session, PT switches to the other better grafic card. Which invariably makes the fans run faster. Because of the added heat. So by setting the grafic card to integrated using gfxCardStatus after you load a session the mac is now cooler and the fans almost inaudible. In the meantime I also found that the same "rising temp" issue appears when I use a Firewire interface vs USB. Firewire=Heat=Noise The search goes on... |
