Default Can a tablet be connected via usb/cable for Avid Dock and S1

Can a tablet(ipad/samsung) be connected to the Avid Dock/S1 via a cable/usb instead of wireless?

I use a lightning to Ethernet cable for my iPad. Then this is pluged in a dumb switch along my S1s and Dock, and that is connected to my computer. Stable!

Thank you.
Of course, the ipad isn't going to get power over that connection, so it must be charged regularly…(?)
