I have done studio recording and built song files in ProTools at a local studio. I am now researching getting a home set-up for myself.
Obviously, if I get a ProTools set-up at home, the Studio files should be able to transfer relatively compatibly to the Home set-up. However....Are there any other DAW software programs that would work compatibly? If I got CuBase or Logic or Performer, would the Studio ProTools files be openable in those formats? And if so...Which would be most compatible with ProTools? |

Mackie 24/96!!!
and here's why ----------- if you have ever been through a pawn shop you can probably find a mackie 24/96 from the mid to late 90's. here's the kick: it's got 24 tracks, including 96 virtuals. (correct me if i'm stupid) go up to any idiot who doesn't know a darn thing about audio recording and be honest: the mackie 24/96 is a piece of junk when it comes to today's modern technology. so instead of paying over a bunch-uh-thousand dollars for an old mackie system you can get one today for like 75 bucks. hell look for broken ones. they really aren't hard to fix. then get yourself a basic 8-16 channel mixer. here's where i get you: record EVERYTHING on the mackie with no further EQing or stupid reverb. just render the tracks, get yourself the specific plug that connects your MACKIE to your PC and suddenly YOU CAN PRACTICALLY CLICK AND DRAG ALL OF YOUR RECORDED DATA INTO PRO TOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cubase sucks. -moto
