Separation "scissors hand" tool becomes selected inadvertently

I'll often be working away and out of the blue I will see that "scissors hand" separation tool has become selected.

I thought I must be inadvertently pressing the f8 shortcut but it happens so often that I think there must be something else I'm doing to select it.

Any ideas users?

I haven't seen that behavior here. But, I always use the Separation Grabber.

Maybe not a solution, but are you aware about Options > Edit/Tool Mode Keyboard Lock?
