Default Bomb Factory/Bass Pod for Bass Tones?

I will be getting a DIgi 001 and a kick ass new computer as soon as they release the windows XP version (hurry up please Digidesign!). I plan on getting the 001 factory, which apparently comes with some bombfactory plug ins. I am looking for something to play bass with on my songs, and I want to have a good variety of bass tones. Since I have no knowledge of what these things do, is the bomb factory plugins good enought for getting lots of cool bass tones, or should I look more at getting a Bass POD? (or is getting both the best of both worlds?). Thanks a lot!

Get both of them! I haven't used the Bass POD myself, but people have been telling me it's kick *****. Also, definitely don't give up on the factory bundle. The compressors alone are worth the extra money.

go with a sansamp bass DI. it kicks ass and its cheaper than the pod. i love my sansamp so much that i went out and bought the rbi (rackmount version of the bass DI), its even better than the original. now i got 2 for extreme bass!
