I did the same thing for the dreaded 'N' key, now it throws up a message that says 'slow down iddy-it!'. When I need to type words in the dialogue boxes, I just hold down the shift key, and it types everything in caps. I also have [control-x] programmed to:

1. select all
2. 'Title Case'
3. Return

I hit this after typing into the dialogue boxes. Works great, and becomes second nature after a few days.

I also programmed the 'Y' key to decrease track size, and the 'U' key to increase track size. 'Q' and 'W' decrease/increase waveform height. So, my 'Q' through 'U' keys take care of most of my track/waveform viewing with my fingers. Quickeys kicks ass!

Lots of great ideas here.

Think zoom w mouse seems like something I could get into.
God! It is really hard to change working-habits.

Kinda like when I switched from PC to Mac.

Hey guys, I see this post is old, but probably someone still have this problem and I can't see solution I use here.

what I do to quickly recover from accidentally pressing Y is:

press Z/cmd+Z for undo and then arrow left to go to start of selection.

for me this is best solution till date.

This is the reason I threw the newer keyboard in the trash when I got it.
