Swapping Non-HD for HD in iLok Cloud?

Question,

I recently upgraded to HD and I want to utilize my HD license in the iLok cloud session, though it only seems to want to keep my non-HD license in there, and i'm not sure how to remove/replace it. Anyone else experience this?

Close the cloud session in the iLok manager. When you do that the licenses in the cloud should show as available. Then you can right-click and deactivate or drag it to an iLok. Then you should be able to put the other license in the cloud.

Hey Chuck!

I've tried to accomplish what you suggested, but the ilok manager closes the actual session that the license sits in, so I can't deactivate it. I also can't deactivate it when its on as well. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here...

How many iLoks do you have? I'd move the NON HD license to an iLok that's NOT plugged in to your current system... give it to someone else. Then keep the HD version in the Cloud and restart the app.

Dragging the license to an iLok appears to be the only way to keep an available license out of the cloud. When you open a cloud session it takes any available cloud license regardless of status (deactivated, hidden) and the deactivate while in the cloud does nothing. Not sure why this is? Also, under that scenario, would think that both PT licenses would be in the cloud and opening PT would use the more capable HD license. ??? Need more coffee . . .

Right... I've got multiple iLoks and licenses (between 7 or 8 users) and simply drag the license I DON'T want to use (non-HD) to an inactive or, otherwise, different user.

It's almost worth having extra iLoks around just for storing misc licenses.

Regardless, this will work once the non-HD is out of sight.

So I tried today to put the non-Hd license on a 2nd ilok (ilok2). I was able to activate it on the license, though funny enough, it still stayed on my iCloud session (which I've closed and opened a dozen times now).
It's super weird. I wish I knew what I was doing to prevent theilok license manager from letting me remove the non-hd license, but I'm kind of out of ideas now and I just want to use my HD license in the cloud.

Alright, finally got it to work.

I ended up Deactivating my HD license from my ilok, then opening PT which prompted me with the cloud session option, chose that, and now it's up and running!
