Default How do you remove the control 24 arm rest?

My control 24 has been in storage and upon reviving it the arm rest has become a sticky mess. I've searched the forum and discovered that Digi will sell a new one for a $150.00.
But I never liked that arm rest anyway.
So can I just take it off, recover it with something cushy and attach it back?
I took off a half dozen screws on the bottom, but that doesn't do it.
It's gotta come off some how doesn't it?

We've sent a document to your registered email address with information on how to replace the front armrest trim.

Thank you for the info. Slightly more complicated than i would have thought. I'll have to wait for a day of inspired motivation.

So I guess my next question is, has anyone done a mod to the armrest?
If you were to attach some kind of fabric or padding to the armrest, where it goes around the sides that would be between the armrest and the control24 frame, would you be able to re-attach it to the Control24 successfully?

yes, I've explored that idea, but I wanted to avoid building an armrest around the armrest, and simply (or maybe it's not so simple) improve the existing one.
Hopefully someone has done this and can fill me in on the pitfalls if any.
I would hate to be the 1st one to tear it up.
