Default Exporting a WAV file with no meta data tag.

Does anyone know an easy way to export a wav file from protools that does not include the metadata information? I am doing a lot of mobile work and protools adds certain metadata to its files like track, date stamp, etc.. This information is causing problems with other software. Is there a way to get a clean wav file from protools? If not is there a third party batch converter that anyone has used successfully that does this well as I am dealing with a lot of files. Thanks for the help.

No.. but the problem lies with your other software -- the spec specifically says to ignore unrecognized RIFF Chunks.

Hey Rail,
I agree with you, unfortuanatly these are files that are going internationally to mobile carriers and they specify no meta tag info in the delivery so its not something I can change on the back end. I think it's idiodic but I cant tell a major label that there system is outdated and they need to fix it. I have told them this before several times and its more trouble then its worth. Im just trying to figure out a work around. We have actually met several times over at S.C. studio. Thanks for the response. James

Hi james,

I don't know of any utilities to do this -- it would be simple to write a quick app for you on Windows.. but you should try using SoundHack or BabaBatch -- first convert the Pro Tools WAV files to something else to strip the chunks, then convert them back to WAV files.
