Default Updating to PT v.7.1 on Windows XP

I am considering updating ProTools from v7.0 to v7.1. When I get ready to run the installer it says that I have a previous version of ProTools on the computer and that I will need to uninstall it before running the update. If I do this, will I lose all of my previous sessions and audio files from PT 7.0?

No. Not unless you have mistakenly stored them in the temporary "Digidesign Databases" folders.

You should not lose them unless as stated above you store them in your databases folder. You do make backups anyways right? If not, you should. Any computer file can get corrupted or accidentally deleted at any time. Back up twice. And if your not sure, back up again. If you have some free time, back up. And...uh...did I mention back up?
