iLok key needed?
Hey everyone,
I have Pro Tools Le7.4 (I'm retro! ) but I'm buying a new MBP soon. I've looked up the new pro tools on eBay (similar to LE , ie not the HD version) so I can use it with my Mbox mini (I do sound design so don't need massive hardware). Currently, I just plug my mbox mini in, and open pro tools. However with Pro Tools 9 it appears you need an "ilok key" instead. Can anyone tell me what this means? Can I plug in the small USB ilok that comes with pro tools 9 as opposed to needing to plug in my mbox mini? That would actually be great and save on desk space :) Thanks for the answer, it's just this is quite different from when I bought the mbox and pro tools LE Thanks :):) |

Re: iLok key needed?
To elaborate slightly. LE was Hardware Enabled. PT9 is iLok Ebabled. All you need uis your iLok. You can also use your existing LE hardware as your I/O but you need the iLok to launch PT.
So if I'm reading your question correctly the answer is yes.
