That was an excellent, concise answer.

I will add to it that if you will be sharing or using PT sessions with Mac users (the big majority so far), you will have to work out a routine for transferring back and forth, since Macs generally read Windows format discs more readily than the other way around. This is not very hard, but you will have to work out a routine for doing it, which will at least involve getting a software package called 'MacOpener'. Running on a Mac avoids this process (unless you will need to share or use PT sessions with Windows users).

On Windows, PT is stable, and runs fine.
It costs less for the hardware to run it on.

Possible Reasons to not use Windows are:
(A) You don't know Windows, and have no-one to configure Windows for you
(B) THere are less plugins for Windows PT

That's about the full story

Having said that, Steve, we use "Dave" on our Macs to interface with our Windows network, and the Macs just appear as any other computers on the network, and that works fine for us.

That's good to know (re DAVE). But my comments were directed to going to a different location (studio, etc) where all you bring is the session files and data files (e.g., working at home and at a studio).

Hey Tron

It took me 20 minutes to install HD on my PC
including installing the HD cards
How long did you take on your Mac?

Mind you, you're right about the plugins :-(
