Default Mbox 2 mini - recognized but no sound

Question! I recently upgraded to 10.10.5 a few months ago and my mbox 2 mini obviously wasn't working with the old drivers. I have a usb dock- deleted the drivers and followed the instructions on here downloading the 10.3.3 mbox 2 mini drivers. I'm on the new garageband. Well my mbox 2 mini lit up, my 2012 Mbpr and garageband recognized it. Yet when I plugged in my guitar to try to record it wouldn't get any signal even though it recognized my 2 inputs. And yes I tried switching between monitoring and not. Any thoughts??

*Way* more info needed on your exact setup and problem and troubleshooting you gave trie. Exact Pro Tools, OS, hardware setup, etc. What exactly (electric or acoustic guitar? guitar type, pickup type) is plugged into exactly what on the Mbox? Using what cable/connector? Has this ever worked before? What changed?

If an electric guitar and you are trying to record the DI input do you have an guitar amp sim insert on that track so you can monitor through that? Is the guitar instrument cable plugged into a DI input? The corresponding preamp gain on the Mbox 2 turned up? Can you hear the (usually vey faint) DI input when using hardware monitoring on the Mbox? (i.e. nothing to do with Pro Tools... if you can't get any signal there the problem is not in Pro Tools).

If the guitar has active pickups are the batteries OK?

Does the guitar work elsewhere? Does the instument cable?
