Default PT 12.8.2 and 29.97 problems?

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with 29.97 fps video and Pro Tools?

I recently upgraded to 12.8.2R2, and I can't get Pro Tools to import video that is at 29.97 fps.

I get the "unable to link due to either a missing CODEC or the file may be unsupported" error.

I am on mac os 10.12.6 sierra and PT 12.8.2 R2. I have the latest codecs installed. I have tried importing an mp4, H264, prores proxy, and DNxHD36. There are no special characters in the filename either, and no AMA plugins.

I am using Blackmagic intensity and have am using the latest driver 10.9.7.

I can get other video files at 23.976 to import fine, it's just files at 29.97 that give me the error.

I've seen this error before, and I think it usually occured after trying to work with multiple videos of varying codecs and/or frame sizes together in one session. I doubt that this issue is specific to 12.8.2. You could test easily by trashing prefs and running 12.8.1.

Hi Friendlybunny,
Try cleaning all video files from clip list and deleting all previous video tracks.
Save.
Close that session.
Open it again, check that TC session is 29.97 (and Drop or Non Drop same as the video) and try to import the difficult video.
I guess you'll probably get success.

Thank you! I tried it, but it didn't work. I'm going to delete preferences and maybe try a reinstall when I get a chance. I don't want to break my system when in the middle of several projects.

Luckily I have video slave for video duties. I was just trying to bounce the mix to the quicktime, but I can't get a 29.97 video into the timeline.
