Error: " invalid utf-8 sequence encountered while trying to encode utf-32"
Hi all,
Forgive my lack of searching, IrmaGerd took out my internet and search on the phone is uncooperative. Using PT 12.7 on Sierra, first time getting this error: "invalid utf-8 sequence encountered while trying to encode utf-32 character" Google is of no help. Causes a PT crash. Any thoughts on how to fix it? Possibly a plugin trying to phone home? Thanks! 27" iMac retina 5k i7 16g ram 10.12.3 sierra Komplete audio 6

Re: Error: " invalid utf-8 sequence encountered while trying to encode utf-32"
Hi, UTF8 is something to do with text character encoding - never seen that error before. What happens right before the error occurs?

Re: Error: " invalid utf-8 sequence encountered while trying to encode utf-32"
Nothing special. Just editing, composing, etc. I don't think it happened after a restart, and I definitely think it had something to do with no internet. PT was very slow to start up w/o a connection.

Re: Error: " invalid utf-8 sequence encountered while trying to encode utf-32"
That sounds like a Unicode error. Are you running a non-English version of PT maybe? If so, it could be an error in the language code. It['s possible that a plugin caused it.

Looks like you have a invalid character somewhere in your file- or directory-names. Check that there are i.e. no foreign symbols (i.e. chinese, arabic characters etc.) and no characters like (*,?,/) etc., especially NO forward slash '/'. |

Re: Error: " invalid utf-8 sequence encountered while trying to encode utf-32"
After several days with no issues, the error popped up again just now while using NI's Rise & Hit inside Kontakt.
So now I'm updating Kontakt. Weird.

Re: Error: " invalid utf-8 sequence encountered while trying to encode utf-32"
careful updating Kontakt .. there is some compatibility issues with older sessions .. or try to open newer sessions on older systems .. one way or the other .. just be careful ..
