This problem may have already been addressed but here is what I have and what I am experiencing;

Powerbook G4 w/ OS Tiger 10.4
MBox 2 w/ 6.8.1 Software
External Firewire Hard Drive

I am attempting to use my External HD as the recording drive while using the Mac HD as the system drive (standard procedure).

In the Workspace it is telling me that I cannot set my external HD as an audio recording volume because is not a valid audio volume.

What should the system drive be set to in the workspace browser (in the A/V windows)?

I've tried setting everything to the way Ive been told to set it, but something isnt lining up. If anyone can offer help, it would be greatly appreciated.

my solution:
[sorry if this was already stated]

highlight fiewire drive [1 click]
choose "get info" from file menu
under "Ownership and Permissions" set all to "Read and Write"
make sure you click open "Details" and set "Owner" & "Other" Access to Read & Write too.

then you can can go to PTLE > Windows>Workspace>
click on the letter in the "A" column and change t to "R" for "Record"

Hi Golly,

I tried exactly as you stated and I still get the same message. Does anyone else have any ideas? I'll call tech support in the morning.

I'm having the exact same problem except I'm using OS10.4.4 and PT7sc3 on a Powerbook G4 1.5 and I have new drives. In the Workspace window, all drives shows "T" and will not allow me to change them to P or R. The drives are formatted at extended nonjournaled. I can start from scratch and have several times but having the same problem. By the way, this unit is using an MBox. My G5/002 combo is working fine but this one.............
Please help.
