Noisy Outputs 1 & 2

Hi everyone,
Fairly new S3 owner. I like it ok. Begrudgingly bought one as I needed something to replace my Control 24 but was not prepared to give AVID as much money for a C|24 just to have them EOL it in a couple of years and provide us no drivers for future versions. Regrettably not many other control surfaces out there appealed to me. Anyhow, that bit of a vent aside, I notice that the outputs on the S3 are quite noisy. Even when muted and regardless of the input source. Am I missing something or is everyone else suffering from this. It drives me crazy. Any help would be highly appreciated!

Just read your post would you explain what you are doing with the S3 outputs and why they seem to be noisy. I would like to use my own S3 with its outputs directly into a 16 channel analogue desk and wondered if its possible.

Hi IrelandM,
I am using Outputs 1&2 for my main monitor outs. I am not using the AVB on the S3, but rather inputs 1&2 which is being fed from the outputs of my Apollo 8P. When connected directly to monitors the Apollo has low/zero noise, whereas the S3 is quite noisy. I can just use the Apollo to control monitor section but it is rather inconvenient, as the S3 is in front of me and allows me to turn down or up, mute or dim my monitors. The Apollo is on a rack behind me, which doesn't allow me to control these parameters as quickly. It's a shame because it is not a cheap unit but that is just amateur in my opinion.

Do you own one? Do you you use outputs 1&2?
