Default Protools shifts recorded audio early

This is crazy:

I record a track into a native system to an audio click
Meanwhile I output the native system to my other HD rig and record that at the same time.

This way I can compare what I actually hear while recording to what I see afterwards on the native system grid.

They are different.

The native recorded track is early by 420samples compared to the track recorded in realtime from it's output.
(once imported on native and using click waveforms to allign)

Anyboy has an explanation for this? Please!

System is Macbookpro 2011 with El Capitan 8g ram SSD (but tried also Sierra and High sierra) with a scarlet 2i2 and PT 2018.12. Buffer was 64, but also tried different settings, both buffer and sample rate.

Thanks !!!

Did you ever figure this out? It's suggested to merely trash the PT Pref files. I've been experiencing this problem with PT for many years.

I suspect lack of info like sample rate, plugins in use, if LLM was used, etc helped the OP not get a reply to this post from several years ago.

You might get more help for your problem if you describe your issue as clearly as possible, how to reproduce it etc

Can you reproduce your problem in a session with say two tracks and no plugins? UAD complexity with the UAD mixer and potentially some high latency UAD plugins in the mixer or Pro Tools always make me want to afl exactly what plugins are in use where in any IAD system. Can you reproduce your issue using built in input/output?
