Default Issues With Mac Pro

I have just moved from a PC over to Mac, I am running a Mac Pro Quad 2.66 with 5g ram, 250g OS drive , 500g sata Sessions drive, and two 80g sata drives

I am running leopard 10.5.5 (latest version)

Installed PT 7.4.2 and tested all was well opened up old sessions from Lacie Fw drive and they worked flawless.

Now my issues

I have a presonus fader Port I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for mac and it even shows up in the Midi devices on the mac, I tried to create an HUI for in in PT under the Perif's, and HUI is not an option only none shows up.

second issue, I downloaded 7.4.2 cs2 update and it tells me it cant find that 7.4.2 is installed even though it is and it is working.

third issue , I installed reason 2.5 and it works fine in stand alone mode, but cant figure it out for using it inside PT, I am thinking I need to reinstall rewire or I didn't install it.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Reason 2.5 didn't work on intel macs let alone leopard. I would check compatibility with Propellerhead.

Hey... I was "not a MIDI guy" for a long time. Now using Strike a little, etc. decided to install my Reason Adapted 2.5. Same problem as you're having-works standalone, but not to use on tracks. I mailed the PropHeads, who told me I'd need to upgrade (can go through the process on their site) to current version. Upgraded full version does look pretty awesome; got a family member who's interested more in MIDI than me; I'll be doing the upgrade soon, just haven't done it yet. Best of luck. Peace.

It's not about whether it works in standalone or not, it's about Re-wire and how PT and Reason talk to each other. The version you have will not work, period.

no clue about issue #1, I have no surface of my own, but are you having any issues with 7.4.2? Is there a certain thing CS2 will fix that you are noticing, or are you just doing CS2 because it is available? If you haven't had any problems yet, I would stick with what is working for you. If the CS fixes a specific problem you are noticing, then my guess is re-download and try again. Pro Tools is living on your system drive, correct?

ok, I think my message above on the upgrade shows that I am going to upgrade so that issues does not need any more replys, I always install CS upgrades as they come out, Point there being that the cs upgrade says that 7.4.2 is not installed and it is, and it is working, I am having no issues yet with 7.4.2

But I do have a big issue with my Control surface not working

That's because it's running in compatibility mode - fine for standalone, but will not work with ReWire. You need to upgrade to a compatible version (3.0.5, or 4.0.1).

digitechsupport, Can you answer the question as to why the cs2 update says I dont have 7.4.2 installed when I do and it works, Also I found out from Presonus that the faderport issue is a know issue and to correct it, I just need to plug in a usb hub to the cpu and then the faderport into that

all, the reason, and faderport issues are resolved
