Yes If you get the perpetual HD licence and yearly (12 month) upgrade and support plan with your HW purchase. Then if you renew before the expiration date of the "update and support plan" it will be $399 for another 12 month upgrade and support plan (And your perpetual keeps upgrading as well, to whatever the latest version upgrade is available, until you let the upgrade and support plan expire. )

As the purchaser of several HD licenses, I wish Avid would offer a discount for multiple upgrade renewals. Multiple $399/year fees add up quickly. Given that I have not called for support in over 15 years, $399 seems expensive. But I would gladly pay it for two upgraded licenses with no support.

I can see a reason for a multi workstation business to pay full pop per license, but it is a drag for me given that I am a one man show who bought redundant licenses simply for the purpose of traveling and teaching master classes, seminars and special events, often for Avid resellers! Call me paranoid, but at least one iLok will NEVER leave my mix room, even with Zero Downtime insurance.

100% correct there! Funny how it "appears" in some threads there are hundreds and thousands who are asking for something just to turn out that 18 people have posted a yes please out of 1700 + views... Does that mean people dont care or just the fact there aren't that many members on HD who lurks here, they are in the studio making music instead

I believe Avid's mindset is not into how much you can save by doing XYZ but how much you can make money by using PT. So if you can't you might have a problem with it, but if you can, it's a non-issue.

Being "HD" is not what it used to be.. all the big rooms in LA are HD.. but many are still PT10-11 older 192
If you are editing post with amazon netflix or fill in the $$$, type room.. you buy the latest and dont think too deeply.

Mostly on this forum Ive seen are smaller people that got HD since it was the best option 7 years ago. They still keep it but, are getting gouged.year after year.
If your amazon post $$$ room youll buy the "support" no brainer

If your 1-2 person you prob muscle through most of your issues with community online resources.
PT is really not the Most Pro.. it just happened to be the first and best for a long while..
Im still on it.. despite getting -9xxx messages with 30% cpu and barely anything in a session... what other chumps run and give $$ year after year for this?
