mgb1756, aside from this issue, how has your experience been since? I am thinking about building a pc with the same processor and an X299 motherboard. Any thoughts or experiences you could share would be greatly appreciated.

One more thing that may help; Go to Setup>Playback Engine and look at Disk Playback>Cache size. Its probably set on Normal and I would change it to 10 or 12 GB
