Re: Control won't connect - what am I missing?
Maybe you forgot to turn on EuCon in the Peripherals in Pro Tools? Happened to me yesterday and showed the same problems. Btw: I've tried an iPad 2 and an iPad mini 2, both worked with Pro Tools Control. It's possible there are some minor issues with older iPads as Kyle wrote in another thread.

Re: Control won't connect - what am I missing?
I've been trying to connect my iPad Eucon for bloody ages with little success. My issue I think is that my mac pro is in a Sonnet Rack and the wifi is sketchy at best. The surface appears briefly in the EuControl settings window but keep disappearing. Absolutely infuriating when I have B3 overdubs to do and have to run around like a lunatic dropping into record etc. etc. Aargh
Given up on it now I have the latest versions of everything and a super fast MacPro. Ah well, |

Re: Control won't connect - what am I missing?
Hi,
I still have the same issue. I am running OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 on a Trashcan Mac Pro with Pro Tools HD 11.3.1 and EuControl 3.4, trying to connect an Ipad Air 16 GB with iOS 9.3.4 and the latest Update of PT Control 1.0.6 (May 2016). iPad and Mac Pro are on the same Wifi for sure but I never even see the iPad appearing in the surface section. Any ideas? Thanks. I hope I dont have to change to another iPad to make it running. Cheers, Lajos |

Re: Control won't connect - what am I missing?
You need really good wifi for it to work with any reliability. A 5G dual-band is a must I was 3 feet away from a cheap N router and had nothing but problems. replaced with a high-end Linksys and its been great.

Re: Control won't connect - what am I missing?
Ok So I just tested it with the personal Hotspot of my iPhone to connect the MacPro and the iPad and it worked.
Since I don't wanna have to setup a personal Hotspot always and I cannot change the Router of the Wifi I am connected to because it belongs to the post-production house I am sitting in, it should be an affordable solution to setup a cheap 5GHz Router in the room without internet connection only to create an internal Wifi connection between the two devices, correct? I will try and report. |

Re: Control won't connect - what am I missing?
I can't confirm that: For me the iPad App runs smoothly on a iPad 2 (!) in a 2,4 GHz wifi from a seven year old Apple Airport router.

Re: Control won't connect - what am I missing?
Update:
I connected the MacPro and the iPad both to a personal HotSpot of my iPhone. This way it works. So it is really a problem of the Wifi. I ordered a 5GHz Router today which I will only setup for this connection without Internet. I hope it's gonna work. Cheers |

Re: Control won't connect - what am I missing?
Same here. Works via iPhone hotspot, not via 5G wifi. Any ideas what to suggest that my company's IT guy change in the wifi setup?

Re: Control won't connect - what am I missing?
It's more a case of making sure the switch/router isn't blocking ports or services. A common one is Apple Bonjour(EUCON uses this)....which was blocked here at Avid by default for a while and caused issues connecting the Control App over WiFi! All switches and routers will work with EUCON but it depends on what the settings are. Most default settings should be OK though.
