Default PT8 Upgrade

Ok I'm not a newbie to Pro Tools (been on it for 5 years on both platforms) but I finally recieved my DVD PT8 Upgrade and I read all the optimization threads, and before you get started threads and I've just got a simple question:

When I bought this computer 2 years ago I optimized it according to Digi and upgraded to 7.3. Everything has worked fine (except for a hard drive issue 2 weeks ago that had nothing to do with PT) for the past 2 years.

I am currently running Windows XP SP2 with 4GB of RAM and I want to know if I need to change any configurations aside from uninstalling Pro Tools 7.3 or if there are any issues that I might not be aware of.

Cheers

Well, it's hard to tell much without your specs.

First, you may want to take an image of your existing hard drive so that you can get back to that state quickly if something does go wrong...

Next, why not update to XP SP3.

OK so I'm going to upgrade to SP3, Put the DVD in, uninstall PT 7.3 as recommended and follow the installation instructions.

Anything I'm missing?

Yes, the back up image in case something goes wrong and you want to revert to a working version of Pro Tools, in your case 7.3. Use Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost.

Cheers,
